Wii Fit Review

This game is for all of us who are either too lazy or can’t get to the gym!!

You Can Do It At Home !!

Whoever thought of this console should be knighted (my opinion) as this like most Wii games soon become addictive. Once you have this game and the balance board you can spend hours exercising and not realise that you are “working out“.

This game has provided me and my family with hours of fun as there are many different activities to suit all ages and levels of fitness.

Once you have created your own Mii you can monitor your Fitness, BMI, and Weight by completing a “Body Test“.

When setting this up all my family made the others leave the room so as not to see their statistics (Why? I dont know).

There are 4 training categories with many activities within them, they are :

A shortish review of each activity to whet your appetite. View full article »

WHAT’S THE MOST POPULAR GAME?

For all you “gamers” out there who have their own favourites, you can compare your ideas to mine and pass on any views you have. I know a lot of you “youngsters” prefer the action games, maybe you should give the Wii Fit a chance to impress you (or maybe not).

The Wii has a range of different types of games as do all the other makes of console;  Playstation 2, 3, Xbox etc…

While reviewing and of course playing the games, I have formed opinions on my favourites and are aware that other popular games are “Call of Duty” for the Xbox. My research on the Internet informs me that “Bioshock” is the favourite out there.

The most popular game range on the PS2 is “Final Fantasy”.

Call of Duty is also the most popular game for the PS3.  It’s a good job that this game is available for both consoles or is that the reason why they are popular.

Surprise! Surprise! “Call of Duty is also the most popular game for the Wii.

Just to satisfy my curiosity, Please vote on your favourite game type.

What console do you play your games on?

We would like to know what consoles do you play your games on.

As you can see, the three of us enjoy playing games on different consoles:

MMairair likes playing on the Nintendo Wii

Gary Gary the PS3

Richard Richard on the PS2.

We would like you to let us know what is your favourite console, and what type of games do you like playing.

Thank you for taking the time to vote.

Review: Sonic the Hedgehog (PS2)

Sega Mega Drive CollectionI first encountered Sonic the Hedgehog when I owned a Sega Megadrive – some time ago. The game was initally released in 1991. It is a platform game that has spawned many sequels. His arch-villain is a scientist called Dr. Robotnik.

As I initally played the game over 15 years ago and do not own the MegaDrive version anymore, you may ask why am I reviewing it ? The reason, some time ago the Playstation 2 released a collection of games called the “Sega Megadrive Collection“. This was released as the “Sega Genesis Collection” in America. As I have come into possession of this game, I thought would play it again.

Are retailers doing enough for the PS2?

Playstation 2 is ‘console champion’

(BBC News)

Playstation ControllerThose were the days. According the this news story from 2002, the PS2 was the bestseller with Nintendo consoles trailing far behind.

If you are like me, you may have a number of Playstation 2 (PS2) games in a drawer or in the bottom of the wardrobe. You are unlikely to part with them, despite the fact that you are highly unlikely to play them again. This could be for sentimental reasons or that you are too lazy to sort out your stuff. Or it could be that you have taken the games(s) to a store to trade and have been reluctant to part with a game with what you were offered.

This happened to me some time ago. I returned a game only to be told the trade price was 10p. “The box is worth more than that” I said to the store assistant and put the game back in my bag. I could understand if it was a football game like FIFA or Pro Evolution Soccer but it wasn’t.

Let’s say you wanted to upgrade to the PS3, and needed to sell a number of games to part-pay for your new console. If you were only offered £20 for them you may decide to hold on to your Playstation 2 until the price of the PS3 is reduced.

Donkey Kong Returns

For the first time a new game has taken top spot in the All Format Sales Charts.

Mirror.co.uk

Out of all the games in the “Top Ten” the only one I have used is the Wii FitPlus (Nintendo). All other games are more suitable for those who like action games. There two others which I would be interested in are “Just Dance” and Kinect Sports. To “look before you buy” I found a good site which shows clips of the games. This site gives a review of the games  if you are  interested, and has given me a few ideas on what to buy my grandkids for gifts.

Review: Tiger Woods PGA Tour 07 (PS2)

Tiger Woods 07 Game CoverI have been playing golf games on various consoles for years. (I think the first was World Class Leaderboard on the Amstrad) The Tiger Woods franchise has been running for some time, and as I recently started playing this version I thought that I would review it.

Review: The Simpsons Game

The Simpsons Game Box CoverFirst, a little bit of history. It is fair to say that everyone likes the Simpsons. Developed by Matt Groening, the TV show started as a series of shorts, debuting on US TV in 1987 as part of the Tracey Ullman Show. Going solo in 1989, The Simpsons are massive.   If you don’t like them then you are certainly in the minority. After playing The Simpsons: Hit and Run and The Simpsons: Road Rage,  games I have played and were fairly enjoyable, I decided to purchase this game after it received good reviews. Last year they produced a game called The Simpsons Arcade for the iPhone. Enough of that, let’s get on with my review. View full article »
